Earlier this month, I had an opportunity to travel to New Hampshire to spend a few days with our newest MarTech partner, Thunderhead Inc. During my time on site, I participated in a deep dive training session with Peter Foglesanger and Mike Casey, both from the Partner Experience team.

Afterward, I sat down with Peter to learn more about Thunderheads unique offerings. Here’s what he has to say:

Can you tell us a bit about your role at Thunderhead?

Peter: At Thunderhead, I’m leading our efforts to recruit and onboard agencies and integrators to form our North American partner ecosystem.

What did you do before this?

Peter: Prior to working at Thunderhead, I spent nearly 6 years as a Regional Sales Director at Sitecore.

Who do you primarily work with?

Peter: My primary focus is working with service providers as they become our partners.  I also provide pre-sales support as a marketing technologist and product evangelist.

What industry trends are you most excited about?

Peter: I’m a bit of a Personalization nut… so I’m really excited to see a growing understanding of the need to personalize customers experiences across their journeys. I absolutely hate when brands have the same static experience for every customer for every interaction… regardless of their context.

What do you want customers to know about your services?

Peter: It doesn’t have to be hard.  It doesn’t have to wait until next year’s budget.  We can help them have a dramatic impact on their customer’s experiences in an amazingly short time.

Tim: One of my favorites takeaways from the training was the reporting dashboard for its ability to capture robust snapshots of user journeys and life cycles.  I can see this being a huge value to our customers as we get a lot of questions around our analytics capabilities since marketers need to prove ROI more now than ever.

What brand values are you trying to deliver on for your customers?

Peter: Real insight into their customer’s journeys and experiences.  Not in a rear view mirror, but in real-time allowing the brand to deliver their value to customers, in context, in real-time.

What questions do you most often get asked from end clients looking to use your services?

Peter: “Doesn’t {insert MarTech product name here} do this?“  Nope. It might do some but not all, and the part that it does do probably requires an army of programmers, a huge chunk of your budget, and way too much of your calendar to get there.

Describe the culture of your organization.

Peter: Fun… authentic… several of us on the North American team worked together for years before joining Thunderhead.  That’s helped us build a culture with a very collaborative mindset that really enjoys working together.  It makes us all better than we are individually.

Tell us a fun fact about Thunderhead.

Peter: Definitely the coolest company name I’ve ever worked for!  Really… Thunderhead!?  How cool is that!

Also, this is the only company I’ve ever worked for with a racing team #TeamThunderhead!  Check out those hood logos!  When you work for a disruptive thought leader like Glen Manchester… well, it’s just cool!
