S.M.A.R.T Goal Setting for Spring

After a dreadfully cold and seemingly prolonged winter, spring has returned to the Hudson Valley carrying with it all the hopeful signs of transition and growth.  Coincidentally, within the company we are engaged in a newly implemented goal setting process for performance improvement, professional development and championing the company’s vision.

For some, the end-product of this process will provide a clear roadmap for future contributions to clients, projects and the company as they learn new technologies, better utilize existing tools and promote the company’s culture.  Undoubtedly for others, the process will be uncomfortable as it requires introspection and moving beyond current boundaries into new terrain.  These days of longer daylight accompanied by warming temperatures herald the new season and ignite spring’s renewal.

Equally, an honest and S.M.A.R.T. goal setting process can carry the potential for personal expansion, professional growth and fulfillment.   Much like the fearless purple and yellow crocus that are pushing up through the cover of fall leaves, we too as engaged, hungry and intelligent professionals should welcome the goal setting process as the harbinger of positive transition and growth.  This is a good time of year to look outside the window for inspiration!
